MISSION STATEMENT
The Power Company Kids Club is dedicated to promoting the emotional, physical, spiritual, and social well-being of the at-risk children and teens of our inner cities through weekly Bible teaching, mentoring, and cooperation with parents, churches, community organizations, schools and civic leaders.
OUR ORGANIZATION
The Power Company Kids Club is a faith-based, nonprofit ministry committed to giving children and teens in urban America a hope and a future. The ministry was established in 1993 and has been serving at-risk, inner-city children and their families for over fourteen years.
Our headquarters are located at 530 East Pike in Pontiac, Michigan.
OUR FUNDING
The Power Company Kids Club is funded through the generosity of interested individuals, businesses, churches and other organizations. It is one of the most cost-effective ministries of its kind. Donors find The Power Company Kids Club to be accountable, efficient and effective with those funds invested in its stated projects and people. All gifts given to The Power Company Kids Club are tax deductible as allowed by law.
OUR FOUNDER
The Reverend John W. Gunn is the president and founder of The Power Company Kids Club.
John has served as senior pastor of two churches over a 24-year period and has been extensively involved in overseas evangelistic ministry and church planting. Feeling compelled to evangelize the children and people of the inner cities of America, John resigned the pastorate in order to devote himself to rescuing the upcoming generation.
John and his wife Michele live in the midst of the community that they minister to. Drugs, violence, alcoholism, poverty, prostitution, and marauding gangs are a way of life where they live and work.
Throughout the years and still today, John drives his own bus route and he and Michele visit hundreds of children in their homes each week. John leads the weekly ministry, teaches the lessons, mentors the staff and develops and leads the sidewalk ministry teams on the streets.
Today, with the help of dedicated staff, trucks equipped for ministry on the streets, and a fleet of buses, he is reaching out to thousands of children and their families each week with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
John travels on Sundays speaking in churches throughout America sharing his heart for rescuing the at-risk children of our nation's cities.
John and his wife, Michele are enjoying 37 years of marriage and have three grown children and ten grandchildren.
